Homemade Raisin Bread Pudding with Pecans & Brown Sugar Glaze heart emoticon
*This is one of my kid's favorite desserts. This dessert is easy to make. A plus to this is you probably have all the ingredients for it in your kitchen already!
Ingredients:
2 Loafs of Italian Bread (or any bread you like)
6 Eggs
2 Cups of Milk
1 Cup of Heavy Cream
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
1 Teaspoon of Cinnamon
1 Cup of Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup of Cane Sugar
1 Cup of Pecans-chopped fine
1 cup of Raisins
1 Stick of Butter
1/4 Cup of Orange Liqueur
6 Eggs
2 Cups of Milk
1 Cup of Heavy Cream
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
1 Teaspoon of Cinnamon
1 Cup of Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup of Cane Sugar
1 Cup of Pecans-chopped fine
1 cup of Raisins
1 Stick of Butter
1/4 Cup of Orange Liqueur
Directions:
Cut bread into bite sized cubes. Put into baking dish. Mix together eggs, milk, cream and vanilla. Set aside. On top of bread, sprinkle in cinnamon, 1 cup of sugar, and 3/4 cup of brown sugar. Cut 3/4 stick of butter into pats. Layer the butter throughout the bread. Sprinkle in chopped pecans and raisins. Pour egg and milk mixture over bread crumbs. Make sure all the bread is covered with the egg mixture by pushing the bread into the dish so that it soaks up all the mixture. Let it sit for 15 minutes to assure the bread absorbs the egg and milk. Cover loosly with foil and cook in preheated oven at 350 for 50 to 60 minutes. When bread pudding comes out of the oven, combine remaining brown sugar and butter with the orange liqueur in a sauce pan. Heat under medium fire, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil. Spoon glaze over bread pudding. And that's it! I like to eat it warm with some vanilla ice cream on the side! Enjoy!
